In the 15 years since owners Jason & Lea Crockarell opened Flavor Catering, we have grown and expanded in many directions. Our partnerships in the music industry and corporate world have equally shared the attention of our brides looking to make their special day one to remember. What began in a borrowed kitchen with a staff of one has blossomed into a staple for culinary excellence and service. Flavor’s team of chefs and servers bring many years of experience to the table with the goal of providing eatable entertainment. With each new event, our team works together to ensure that your experience is one of a kind. Flavor’s experts work to provide a little extra zest with each menu item and realize that sometimes it’s the small things that can make your event the most memorable. Jason began his career in Nashville as an entertainment caterer for movies and other productions. He was asked to join the culinary staff at the historic Merchant’s Restaurant as a line cook. Over the years he was promoted to Sous Chef and continued up the ranks until he became Corporate Chef. At that point, he left to assist Green Hills Grille in their expansion of three new restaurants.
THE HISTORY OF NASHVILLE
Nashville, Tennessee boasts a rich history that blends tradition with innovation. Originally settled by European explorers in the late 1700s, Nashville quickly emerged as a pivotal hub for trading and culture. Its strategic location along the Cumberland River played a crucial role in its growth, transforming it into a thriving transportation and distribution center during the 19th century.
The city’s nickname, “Music City,” stems from its long-standing association with the music industry, with the Grand Ole Opry and the birth of country music adding unique chapters to its story.
Over the years, Nashville’s historic roots have merged seamlessly with a modern, vibrant spirit. The city’s role in the Civil Rights Movement, exemplified by the Civil Rights Room at the Nashville Public Library, showcases its commitment to progress and equality.
Today, Nashville’s skyline reflects its contemporary dynamism. Its preservation of historic districts like Germantown and a deep appreciation for its musical heritage continue to make it a beloved destination for travelers seeking an authentic taste of the past and the excitement of the present.
